Our History

With 50% of the industrial market, Bascom Family Farms is now one of the world’s top maple syrup and maple sugar suppliers, but it wasn’t always that way. Back in 1853, we started tapping maple trees and producing fine maple sugar granules on our small family farm. With the advent of better containers, Bascom Family Farms began producing maple syrup in the early 1900’s. Ken Bascom took over and continued to grow the farm in the 1950’s. In 1973, Bruce joined his father in the business and it hasn’t been the same since. This seven generation business has continued to grow and evolve since the 1970’s. Today, Stonyfield, Boar’s Head Meats, Country Choice, Johnsonville Sausage, Golden Temple Granola, ConAgra and many other well-known manufacturers rely on our consistent product formulations and R&D support. And when it comes to unswerving high quality, the world’s top chefs and leading private label marketers count on our maple products to delight their customers. With a state-of-the-art production and packaging facility, Bascom Family Farms now operates one of the most modern independent sugaring companies in the maple industry.

With a stable supply of maple from our farm and other independent farms throughout the region, four production lines dedicated to bulk maple syrup and sugar products, and our complete private label maple syrup, private label maple sugar, and confections capacity, our future looks bright.
